Your health information helps us plan safe, personalised dental care. Before your appointment, tell Dental Nation about known allergies, previous reactions and any dietary or fasting requirements that may affect your visit.
Tell us about any medicine that caused a rash, swelling, breathing difficulty, fainting or another concerning reaction, including antibiotics such as penicillin or related medicines, pain-relief medicines, local anaesthetic or sedation medicines, and any medicine you were told to avoid.
Tell us about known reactions to materials or products that may be used in a dental setting, including latex, chlorhexidine or antiseptic products, adhesives, metals or dental materials, and skin preparations or cleaning products.
Food allergies or dietary needs may matter when refreshments, medicines, sedation instructions or post-treatment advice are involved, including severe food allergies, religious or personal dietary requirements, diabetes-related meal planning, and difficulty swallowing or eating certain textures.
Tell us if you have previously felt unwell during dental treatment or experienced a reaction that was not formally diagnosed as an allergy, including fainting or severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, unexpected swelling or rash, and a strong reaction to anaesthetic, sedation or medication.

Where possible, tell us the product or medicine, what happened, when it happened and whether emergency treatment was required.
Bring an allergy card, medical letter, medicine packaging or specialist information if you have it.
If your appointment involves sedation or a procedure with special dietary instructions, follow the information provided in your booking confirmation.
Do not fast unless Dental Nation has specifically instructed you to do so. Requirements differ depending on the treatment, anaesthesia or sedation plan and your medical needs.
Follow the exact eating and drinking instructions in your appointment confirmation, and do not skip diabetes medicines or meals unless your treating clinicians have given you a specific plan. Contact the clinic if the instructions are unclear or if your health condition makes fasting difficult, and tell the team if you have eaten or drunk outside the instructions provided; your safety may require the appointment plan to change.
Eating advice depends on the procedure and medicines used. Your care team will provide individual aftercare instructions. Wait until numbness has reduced before eating when advised, take care with hot food and drinks, and follow any texture or chewing restrictions provided.
Call UAE ambulance services on 998 if someone develops breathing difficulty, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, collapse, or another rapidly worsening reaction. Do not wait for a dental appointment.
